PATCHWORK EXPRÉS 

Patchwork Express is based on the same gameplay mechanics as the original Patchwork, but with a smaller play area and with larger and less complex pieces. This version is a simplification of the original game, specially designed for children and the elderly.

In this strategy game, each player tries to sew the prettiest (and highest-scoring!) Patchwork-style blanket on their personal 7 × 7 board. At the beginning of the game, the colored patches are randomly placed in circles, and the starting marker is placed in a particular location. Each player will receive a few buttons, which are the currency / victory points for the game.

In turns, players buy scraps from those available and move a number of squares according to the complexity and value of the scrap they have chosen. As they progress across the board, they receive buttons and compete for the best pieces of fabric. There will also be 1 × 1 pieces on the board, available to the player who reaches those squares first. At a certain point in the game, the blue patches (smaller and therefore easier to fit) will be added to the patch circle around the board. When both players have reached the central square of the board, the game will end and they will obtain points according to the space that they have been able to fill with the remnants. The score could even be negative! The player who has achieved the most points will be the winner.

Making a beautiful quilt takes a lot of time and effort, since the available scraps do not fit easily. Choose your patches wisely, place them on your quilt, accumulate a large reserve of buttons and do not leave too many holes ... or they will cost you the game.
